About the Artist
Welcome to my website.
I was born on Whidbey Island and, after living on both coasts of the United States and spending time abroad, eventually settled in Kentucky, where I now reside.
For more than 30 years, I worked as a professional photographer before turning my creative focus to oil painting. This transition has allowed me to more fully express my love of the outdoors, nature, and small-town life. My paintings reflect a deep appreciation for light, atmosphere, and the quiet beauty found in everyday scenes.
I am a self-taught artist who has continually refined my skills through dedicated daily practice and by studying with accomplished artists in workshops. My work is exhibited in local galleries, and I regularly participate in juried plein air paint-outs and art shows throughout several states. I am honored to have received multiple awards for my work and remain inspired by the landscapes, communities, and natural beauty that surround me.

Artist Statement:
I live and work in the beautiful state of Kentucky, where I spent my summers roaming the hills of my grandparents’ family farm. Those early experiences shaped a deep connection to the land and continue to inspire my work today. I am drawn to the natural beauty of Kentucky and the quiet emotion found in everyday moments. In my paintings, I seek to capture not only what I see, but what I feel.
Largely self-taught, I have developed my style through years of dedicated study, daily practice, and participation in workshops led by established artists. This combination of independent exploration and guided learning has shaped a confident personal approach—one that balances solid technique with spontaneity and intuition. My work is exhibited in local galleries, and I regularly participate in juried plein air events and art shows across several states, earning multiple awards.
Through my work, I aim to create paintings that feel alive—carrying energy, texture, and a strong sense of place. I hope to invite viewers to slow down, notice subtle shifts of light and color, and connect emotionally with the scene, encouraging a renewed attention to and appreciation for the world around them.
